Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will support the Head of School of Logic (Middle School) in all administrative aspects.  This is a year-round position.

PARENT COMMUNICATION

  • Promote a vested parent culture by looking for ways and setting a tone of inclusion with parents
  • Lead parents to grow in their appreciation for the school and their desire to be involved

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Coordinate and maintain the Head of School of Logic schedule and meetings calendar
  • Maintain a Task List according to daily, weekly, monthly, annual and cyclical patterns
  • Be able to manage the flow of paperwork in an orderly manner
  • Coordinate the substitute teachers on a daily basis
  • Maintain current official student files
  • Be able to manage the flow of paperwork in an orderly manner
  • Coordinate all work related to the grades, transcripts, rosters of the Upper School (AdminPlus)
  • Access Student Information Systems as needed
  • Arrange travel arrangements for the Head of School of Logic and others as deemed necessary
  • Be readied and available at desk during potential “peak” parent drop-in moments
  • Provide support for mailings and other tasks that overflow from Upper School
  • Update and manage delegated tasks to ensure progress to deadlines
  • Perform general clerical duties that include copying, faxing, mailing

Develop a posture and practice of hospitality to all visitors in the office with particular attention to guests who visit the school

 

Experience and Skills:

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • At least four years of administrative experience (preferably in a not-for-profit or educational environment)
  • Clear understanding of the mission of Regents
  • Ability to finalize a printed communication with precision
  • Ability to work directly in a team and promote interdependence on the team.
  • To be skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and AdminPlus and to have a working knowledge of the Regents website, familiarity with fax machines, phones, copiers and to have some ability in repairing any issues that come up.
  • Lifestyle and convictions clearly demonstrate a Christian worldview
  • Outstanding ability to communicate verbally and in writing 
  • Competent to proofread and edit documents
  • Confidence to meet the challenges in an educational environment
  • Ability to address new challenges with creativity and decorum
  • Ability to build relationships with a high competency for interpersonal skills
