Regents School of Austin is a unique K-12 school that educates 1,000 students on an 82-acre campus in southwest Austin. Our mission is to provide a classical, Christian education, founded upon and informed by a Christian worldview, that equips students to know, love, and practice that which is true, good and beautiful, and challenges them to strive for excellence as they live purposefully and intelligently in the service of God and man. WORKING AT REGENTS
The academic community at Regents is shaped by the excellence of the faculty, small class sizes, and the continuity of the K-12 program. With the launch of a new performance management system in 2011-2012, employees are engaged in an environment that is team-oriented and emergent. To ensure that our faculty is continually developing their skills in accordance with our performance objectives, we have a strong professional growth program. Even so, Regents culture is highly sensitive to the need for work/life balance and believes God made us to work from our rest.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHING AT REGENTS
Regents understands the importance of having quality substitute teachers that maintain the high standards even in the absence of a teacher. Therefore, Regents has implemented a streamlined process for training substitute teachers. The substitute roster generally remains full, but if a need arises, a posting will be opened on this webpage and applications are collected. Training occurs during the Fall semester. If there is no posting for Substitute Teacher, the roster is full and we are not accepting new substitute applications at that time.
Regents School of Austin is committed to attracting and retaining outstanding employees through a compensation plan that compares favorably with those of regional peer schools. A full benefits package makes available medical/dental/vision insurance; short and long term disability insurance; life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and additional voluntary life insurance to all full time employees. Regents maintains a 401k retirement plan. In addition to a recently implemented employer-match contribution, full time employees are eligible to receive profit sharing employer contributions after a designated year of service. A generous paid holiday and leave package is provided to all full time employees. Note: Regents School of Austin provides tuition assistance to 20-25% of its families based on need. Regents does not provide QTR (Qualified Tuition Reduction) to Faculty and Staff members, but faculty members are welcome to apply for tuition assistance and, in many cases, receive a substantial reduction.
Regents athletics helps to fulfill the mission of the school by teaching the Christian way of competing and the Christian way of life as expressed through our three core values in athletics - character, commitment, and community. The Regents Athletic Department acknowledges the following order of priorities in our school 1) God, 2) family, 3) academics, and 4) athletics. When this order is followed, it gives student-athletes the opportunity to be balanced spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. With 84% of our students involved in sports, Regents has won 5 state football championships and 1 volleyball state championship.
